How to Store Your Share, from Cook’s Illustrated

GENERAL TIPS

CARROTS

Cut off the tops (they will suck water and nutrients out of the carrot). Put in a loose, perforated plastic bag, preferably twisted shut, in the crisper/vegetable drawer of your fridge. To be extra certain they will not dry out, you can add a damp towel to the bag, or place 
them
 in
 closed 
container 
with
 plenty 
of 
moisture. Alternatively, you can store the carrots in a covered container filled with water.

GREENS

(Kale, Swiss chard, Bok choy, Beet greens) Remove any bands, twist ties, etc. from the stems. Greens should be stored in a loose, perforated plastic bag, preferably twisted shut, in the crisper/vegetable drawer of your fridge.

POTATOES & BEETS

store
 in 
cool,
 dark 
and
 dry 
place,
 such
 as, 
a 
box 
in 
a 
dark
 corner 
of 
the 
pantry; 
a 
paper
 bag 
also 
works 
well. Do not wash them before storing, or make sure to let them dry out (if still wet from washing) before storing.
